Cleveland, OH – The Faraways brings together four accomplished musicians creating a unique, uninhibited brand of original Rock music. Representing far corners of the globe, The Faraways incorporates diverse musical influences from North and South Americas, Europe, Asia, Oceania, and beyond.
Lead Vocalist: Jessi Nemeth is a formidable talent with extensive performing arts experience. Classically trained, as a professional Jessi has performed a cadre of original and cover music spanning rock, pop, R&B, blues, and soul. As a songwriter, Jessi presents existentially relatable stories around self-dignity, lust, betrayal, and reverie. A diverse talent, Jessi also gifts a multitude of percussive, woodwind, and piano stylings among her many collaborations.
Lead Guitarist: Nikhil Chand has contributed electric guitar to Cleveland’s live music and studio scenes for over 30 years. Influenced by genres including Americana, Jazz Fusion, and Indian Classical music, while performing in bands ranging from hard rock to R&B, Nikhil has curated a guitar style where simplicity has become the key to pushing his own creative boundaries. Nikhil rarely plays guitar alone, believing that human connection and spontaneous creativity is his path towards enduring, instinctual songwriting.
Drummer / Vocalist: New Zealand native Brent Gemmill is a dual-showman drummer-singer. Arriving in Cleveland during a 1994 world tour with one of his many former bands, vintage Gretsch drum kit still in tow, Brent has been powering rhythm sections across Northeast Ohio ever since. A consummate botanist fascinated by the natural world, Brent’s artistic endeavors incorporate musical, percussive, vocal, and visual qualities therein.
Bassist / Vocalist: From Santiago, Chile, Fabian Abarca Rivera toured throughout the United States to eventually lay his roots, and his viscous bass playing, in Cleveland, Ohio. Strapped with a 5 string bass, Fabian’s sub-low grooves set the stage in delivering a sweltering full body experience for his bandmates and guests alike. Fabian’s rich talents for song writing and arrangement lend to passionate engagement with his collaborators, resulting in unique soundscapes unbound from traditional music preconceptions.
